C-130 Pilot Training at Little Rock AFB


Phase I

This is the air/land portion of training.  You will learn C-130E systems and basic aircraft maneuvers.  You will begin with about four weeks of academics, and two weeks of simulator training before going to fly the aircraft.  If you are a Phase I only student (Marines, Coast Guard, Naval Reserves, or Air Force going on to an EC-130, a Gunship, the Hurricane Hunters, The Marines)  you will have 5 sorties and a check ride.  Others will have 3 sorties, and move on to Phase II

Phase II

This is the low level single ship and airdrop phase.   You will begin with four weeks of academics, four simulators will be scheduled during this month.   If you are a Phase I/II student (Air Force Rescue HC-130) you will finish this phase with a checkride. 

Phase III

This is the formation portion of training.
