Cartographic, GPS and GIS Intern
![]()
This was a part time work internship that I found on my own, but received credits in my Cartography program at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). The company I worked for was CADDScan Engineering. I Operated Global Positioning System (GPS) and Laser Rangefinding equipment under a contract that CADDScan had with Bell Atlantic Telephone company to create precision maps of fiber optic cable routes within Baltimore City for a 900Mhz emergency services communication network. Differential GPS was later processed, using base station information. The GPS surveyed points were then converted into a Geographic Information System (GIS).
I was additionally assigned to the Survey and Drafting division of Howard County, MD under contract to scan and archive historical engineer drawings.
